I just bought the front snow blade for my BX2230, its real nice but I have concerns. The first being do I need to add the skid plates/shoes and the second being that both the dealer & Kubota in Ohio told me that the hydraulic lines going to the cylinder for the power angle are made to fit three different machines and they looped the hoses and cable tied and clamped them to the angling cylinder, is this OK for them to be coiled and in the way? I would think for the money $2100 out the door it would not be universal what’s so ever!!

As long as they are coiled in the right way they are fine. The extra costs are with the dealer and Kubota. ....

That is a serious chunk of change for a front blade. Just wondering, since the BX2230 is a sub compact with small tires why you would not have gone with the Snowblower for only $300 more, then traction would not ever be a problem. Just a thought.
Blowers certainly are useless for the stuff we have been getting this year though, so a front or rear blade has been the weapon of choice.
On those hoses the B series tractors have a much larger and longer quick hitch than the BX, and I suspect that blades are put on B's more often than BX's so it's most likely one of those 90 10 things why make a shorter hose for the 10%, cheaper to just make them all longer. It is only aesthetics anyway. ....

Skid shoes are always a good idea, no matter what sort of surface you are plowing, but they are a real necessity for gravel driveways.
The plow on my 4115 has tiny skids that work well on asphalt and concrete. I am currently upgrading to something that will function better on gravel. ....

An easy solution to those useless little skid shoes they give you is to buy a set of skid shoes for a pickup truck plow, they are about 8" in diameter and widely available, they're not even expensive.

I don't know about that gravelly, gritty stuff you call dirt out there, but you really have to try to wear out a set of those things around here.
I think the stuff they cast them out has to be recycled Russain T1 battle tanks or something ....

I have extra sets of truck plow shoes sitting around. Anyone can have them for no charge if they want to pay the shipping. I hate shoes personally but they came with the plows. ....

I have 2 stlyes...one style is what the murf meister is describing which is a round 8" foot, the other is acually a miniature ski its about 3" wide & maybe 8" long. The shafts that they are welded to are the same size to be universal with any plow. ....

Thanks for all the great suggestions, I went with the blade because I just don't like the snow in my face when the wind blows. I don't have a traction problem at all, this BX2230 is awesome!!! I took the hoses and had them shorted for $10 and it looks and works great now. Anyone ever interested in selling just the FEL (LA211) without the valve please let me know. I am looking for the loader/arms/mounts.

I went with the Snow blade for two reasons first because when I was a little kid I used my Dad's Simplicity 2WD and always wished it were 4x4 and had a bit more weight to it, well here it is in this Kubota BX.
Secondly I also figured I would buy the loader later when I have a use for it with the next house when I move. I also thought I could find a used LA211 much easier than a good used blade but its been hard to find and I am still looking.
If anyone is selling a BX and wants to help me out I would appreacate it. I only need the loader bucket, loader arms and the two stands that bolt to the tractor for the loader arms. I will supply a replacement stand for your machine to mount you valve on that I have and its just like new.
